In my mind, the fact that many Americans are complaining about high gas prices instead of advocating nuclear fusion research -- if perfected would create low-cost, clean and abundant energy -- is a sizable example of how unbelievely stupid people can be. In other words, if you want to solve a problem you have to introduce something new. And if you're too stupid to realize that, then I'm not taking responsiblity for it.

Mon, June 23, 2008 - 7:23 AMMore oil drilling is not new. Therefore it is likely to continue the problem of high gas prices. Nuclear fusion energy technology is (relatively) new. With nuclear fusion power plants, you can cheaply produce the hydrogen fuel for fuel cell cars without adding to CO2 emissions and with very little radioactive waste production.
